What a meaningful tribute to this Mentos Care mentor who also happens to be the Maypearl ISD Police Chief! Carlos made this beautiful piece of ironwork in welding class especially for mentor, Maypearl ISD Police Chief, S.A. Shepherd. We are very proud of Carlos and think A LOT of him! And so does Chief…

“I have had the honor of knowing Carlos for the last two years. During this time I have watched his grades improve dramatically! He has accomplished so much and is set to graduate in the Spring. When he struggled with a subject last year, he worked hard this year to recover that class. I am so proud that he has all A’s and B’s and has been accepted to TSTC.

Carlos is really a great kid that loves his family. He is quiet but extremely observant and smart. I believe he can do anything he wants in the future.

This year I became the Maypearl ISD Police Chief and Carlos utilized his time in Ag to make me a metal cut out sign of my Police Department shoulder patch and painted it to match. It is proudly displayed in my office and I can’t walk by it without thinking of him.

I am proud to call Carlos Sotello my friend and thankful for the opportunity to be involved in the Mentor Program.”
