Kim Gilson, Advisory Board Member

Kim Gilson has served in public education for almost 30 years. Her career began as a band director in her hometown of Desoto. After having her first child, she became a math teacher and eventually moved to Midlothian, where she was an assistant principal. After serving MISD as a Coordinator for Curriculum, Assessment, and Accountability, she joined the Region 10 Education Service Center.

She is currently in her 2nd year as the Chief Academic Officer at Advantage Academy. Kim is a Zig Ziglar certified motivational speaker and coach, and occasionally dabbles in comedy. She lives in Midlothian and has two sons, Trent and Cade, and attends Harvest Hill Church. Her motto in life is “Go big or go home.”
